The Biggest Reason Your Reels Aren't Working

Our attention spans are LIMITED. If we don’t get to the point quickly, we’ve lost our viewers. No matter how good the message is 🤷‍♀️

Even trimming 0.4 seconds of silence can be HUGE! 🔥 You’d be surprised how much quicker your video is when you trim even that little of an amount. 👀

When it comes to making edits, I usually just edit right in the Instagram app. If my video is too long or requires a lot of tiny cuts, I’ll use the free version of CapCut! 👏🏻

Pro tip 👉🏼 Zooming in on the footage allows you to edit much easier especially if you’re making very small cuts (like those 0.4 second ones!)

This advice can also apply to reels that aren’t talk-to-camera ones! 👇🏼

If you’re using b-roll footage, check to see how long it takes to read the text on screen and then make your video footage match that amount of time. 👋🏼

If your footage is longer than the amount of time it takes to read the text, you’ve probably lost your viewer!😅
